These images were developed for Visa as badges or seals of compliance to various standards that merchants were encouraged to meet. Compliant merchants were allowed to display the standard and would receive Visa endorsement by way of compliant merchant promotional listing etc.

Another concept that never saw the light of day. All involved agreed that it had merit but Verisign was just getting a foothold at the time, as well as Trust.e and Visa decided to endorse a partner rather than sponsor their own initiative.
