No real reason. Doug had illustrated a blue butterfly so he knocked up this white one to see whether it may work better, white on white, as a more subtle image for creativity, but it mostly seemed drab. Remembering that they were mostly a pest in New Zealand (their caterpillars fed almost exclusively on cabbages) he created an animated and softly lit 3D model as an animation test in Strata's 3D Studio Pro. Test worked out fine, Butterfly didn't.
