the late eighties thru early nineties, Doug was a sought after editorial
illustrator for Australian Penthouse. He was building his corporate
identity and branding firm, Studio Gecko , at the time, so he only
produced nine or ten pieces for the world's largest selling men's
magazine.

with Sir John was to illustrate an article about the decaying old
boy network and the ever-decreasing relevance in Australian politics
of posts such as teh Govenor General (a position dating back to
the colonial era: the Govenor General reports on the status of parliament
to the Queen of England; nominally the leader of the Australian
nation, by Commonwealth association).
