of the Digital Lighthouse (branded Etinuum just prior to the IPO)
strategy for rapid expansion was the formalizing of its professional
services offering. To this end Doug published a set of visual aids
to assist in presenting (hence following) the firms various development
/ rollout plans.
Doug
created a system of breaking down enterprise goals into definable
solutions, and solutions into projects, then projects to tasks with
measurable milestones, which was able to be communicated via a methodology
chart.
The
Etinuum methodology for technology development and implementation
was extremely successful in aligning client expectations and obligations
with service professionals task parameters, deadlines and milestones.
Not
only did projects track smoother, but installment payments were
infinitely easier to agree on and collect, and client revisions
and corrections were able to be limited (or charged out a such),
while clients had a greater sense of transparency, control and managed
expectations.
