By August 2001, ProteoMetrics was in the closing stages of a $15 M acquisition with industry leader Genomic Solutions. ProteoMetrics had been, by that time, in acquisition, OEM and VAR conversations with the following public Biotech firms:

Bruker Daltonics
Applied BioScience
Lion Bioscience
MicroMass
Ammersham Pharmacia Biotech
Thermo Finnigan
Cellzome
Compugen.

Closing was set for October 2001 in New York, when the World Trade Center Disaster effectively crippled the industry, Genomic Solutions and the acquisition.

A revised acquisition was successfully concluded by January 2002.
