International, europe's second largest hair care and cosmetic brand
after L'Oreal, rejuvenated their brand identity in 1989 / 90 and
decided to award various brand components by international tender.
In effect, a series of worldwide design competition was held. Doug
was awarded the design and collateral commission for Wella Australia,
as well as the visual communications portfolio for the company.
Doug
re-interpreted the classic Wella profile and rendered the logo as
an embossed image on all of Wella's print collateral. As Wella's
primary salon lines are suites of color products, this subtle approach
bespoke confidence and a color impartiality that served the firm
well in its communications.
