partnership between Doug Lockyer, exponent of creativity and technology,
and John Mathewson, an accomplished management strategist, demanded
and provided opportunity for a unique brand.
The
positioning statement first arrived at was "strategies for
the new market space" this soon evolved into " creative
strategies for the new economy". to visually reinforce this
position of implicit creativity and strategic prowess, focused on
Internet and emergent technologies, a pair of beautifully illustrated
mascots were developed as a logo.
The
mascot pieces ( a chess knight for strategy and a butterfly for
creativity) were digitally illustrated originals, and in fact were
both animated 3D models rendered in Studio Pro by Doug, with painted
details added via Corel Painter and a pressure sensitive Wacom tablet.
Various
screen capture images (in simulation of grainy video) were projected
behind the butterfly on all of the firms collateral, giving a more
edgy feel of emergent tech.
